3 Benefits of Zazen Meditation

i agree that many people are scared of silence – they are scared of discovering how ‘noisy’ their own mind is, so they try to drown the noise by talking louder, playing loud music, going to crowded places… it strikes me that being in silence in zazen is quite similar to the raj yoga meditation taught by the brahma kumaris; additionally, they also recommend the open-eyed meditation technique, which is similar to the method used by the jains… i love being in silence with my eyes half-open, just being aware of my thoughts and the other sounds and movements around me, then my thoughts slow down, then i can examine them with more clarity, as needed… 🙂
